About the CLD - Core Mandates

To fulfil its mission, the CLD Beauharnois-Salaberry structures its activities around the following core mandates:

  • Coordinate regional efforts as part of its 2008-2011 economic redeployment strategy;
  • Manage a multi-service portal dedicated to local entrepreneurship;
  • Promote the Beauharnois-Salaberry region by bringing in foreign investments;
  • Manage the investment funds at its disposal;
  • Formulate a local socioeconomic development and job development action plan;
  • Stimulate entrepreneurial development through programs and initiatives such as the Support for Self-Employment and the Foundation “Notre relève en affaires”.
 

The CLD also offers technical support to entrepreneurs and investors in order to foster growth and diversification within the region. The types of support offered include:

  • Financial assistance programs;
  • Industrial commission services;
  • Technical assistance to develop business plans, financing plans and business monitoring plans;
  • Agricultural and agri-food support;
  • Cooperative and social economy support;
  • Expansion and succession project support;
  • Organization of consultation, orientation, networking and referral activities;
  • Access to free legal advice (1 hour) and accounting advice (4 hours) for promoters who call on the CLD’s services;
  • Personalized advice on practical training (starting a business, SME taxation, labour standards, legal forms, banking negotiations, etc.);
  • Access to a documentation centre with reference books, including those from the Fondation de l'entrepreneurship’s “Entreprendre” collection.
